Spalting describes the process by which certain fungi grow on dead or fallen trees leaving distinguished patterns across the surface of the wood. The process slowly evolves over several years to reach the ideal stage to cut and season the timber.
The teardrop scoop is crafted by hand using a sloyd and hook knife and finished with food safe oil.
